Transforming food
systems

Food systems have the potential to nurture human health and support environmental sustainability; however, they are currently threatening both. If our goal is a thriving world, not just a surviving one, we must redesign our food systems.

We advise and guide corporates and their leadership, invest in innovative start-ups and scale-ups and collaborate with organizations such as the UN World Food Programme (WFP), Africa Improved Foods, UNICEF, the Global Center on (Climate) Adaptation, the World Economic Forum (WEF) and World Bank, to help accelerate the transformation of food systems.

Darwin International advises, invests and advocates on:

  • Making food systems more sustainable, inclusive and climate-resilient.

  • Improving the nutritional value and healthiness of food.

  • Closing the protein gap with sustainable solutions.

  • Reducing food waste.

  • Producing food within planetary boundaries.

  • Improving access to affordable healthy foods and nutrition for all.

  • Developing more sustainable, high-quality, and climate resilient food systems at a local and regional level.

  • Regenerative agriculture and food solutions, including nature-based solutions, land-use and water management.

Adapt

Impact

Like Darwin, we believe that adaptation is the key to being successful in a changing world. Adaptation in our thinking and behaviour, while being open to paradigm shifts. Our current habitat is under serious pressure. So, the question is: how will we make the change and adapt in time? Collectively as a global society, as companies, and as individuals?
